What a wonderful experience I had on Monday! I wistfully mentioned to Anne Brackley, that I would have loved to be able to become a member of the new North Bellarine Aquatic Centre (NBAC).
I wished I could visit regularly, to enjoy a swim for both pleasure and exercise, but unfortunately my only means of transport is my mobility scooter, and I believed that it would be too hazardous for me to attempt to navigate my way to the NBAC.
Immediately a fantastic journey began for me! Moments after my thoughts were uttered, I was presented with printouts of operational hours, fees, accessibility and membership details, then whisked away to explore the route.
I was so excited to discover that it is possible to travel almost all the way from SpringDale by footpath. There is only a short stretch of grassed area in front of the railway station, and one major crossing of the highway being a little difficult to negotiate – but doable! As Anne pointed out where paths joined, and finally met up with the concrete bridge across the retention basin in the north east corner of the Drysdale Sporting Precinct, then a safe crossing to the Aquatic Centre, I was so thrilled that she had shown me my wish can really come true!
Thank you so much Anne.
